ENGINE Athlete Training Day 2025 – A Day of Energy, Connection, and Growth

The 2025 Engine Athlete Training Day brought together an incredible mix of talent, energy, and enthusiasm. From Bond University’s pool to the sands of North Burleigh, the day celebrated what it means to be part of the Engine Team - Athletes pushing limits, sharing stories, and supporting one another.

Building Connection

From the first messages shared in the WhatsApp group to the last high five of the day, the atmosphere was full of positivity and teamwork. Athletes arrived ready to engage, and the balance between training, learning, and fun hit the mark.

Performance Meets Personality

The swim session at Bond University set the tone. A 2km Swim Session hosted by Engine Director and Olympian Andrew Lauterstein had a nice balance of speed work and time to socialise. The swim sessions were followed by relays, and skill challenges brought out both the competitive and the collaborative sides of the athletes. The relaxed pace allowed plenty of time for content capture and natural connection between swimmers, surf athletes, and triathletes.

Momentum Performance in Burleigh hosted the gym session, which Capri and her team ran an awesome session that was professional and well-structured.

At the beach, Phil Clayton led swim a session master class and Aussie Board Champion Matt Bevilacqua ran a board session that wrapped up the day on a strong note. The combination of technical drills and competitive fun captured the essence of Engine - serious about performance but never losing sight of enjoyment.

Stories, Mentors, and Motivation

Motivational talks from Engine founder Toby Haenen, QLD Sales Manager Max Beattie, and 11x Coolangatta Gold Champion and SLSA Hall of famer Ali Day offered genuine insight into leadership, purpose, process and passion. Their words connected with the athletes, reminding everyone that success is as much about mindset, effort, enjoyment and preparation as it is about medals.

The standout moment wasn’t just a performance or a speech, it was the shared feeling of belonging. Athletes from across Australia (even TAS and NSW) came together, forming a team built on shared goals and mutual respect.

Looking Ahead

Engine Athlete Training Day 2025 reinforced what makes us different- connection, humility, and the drive to improve. It’s not just about swimming or racing faster. It’s about building a community of athletes who support each other, represent the brand with pride, and live the values of consistency, effort, and growth.

As one athlete said, “It didn’t feel like training - it felt like being part of something bigger.”
